Hats off to you Representative Bachman for telling the Federal Government it isn't any of your damn business what goes on in my home. She has said that she will write the number of people in her household on the 2010 census and nothing more. Her claim is that the Constitution doesn't require any more information and she is worried about ACORN's involvement in the census taking. I agree with her one hundred percent. ACORN has been charged with several fraud cases and is being investigated in a couple of states as we speak. If they think I am going to give these people any information they are crazy. Also, the government doesn't need to worry about my income, education level, and what time I leave for work in the morning. I understand the need to know how many people are living in the house because it sets up Congressional districts and how these dividing lines are drawn, but they don't need anything else. According to a spokesperson for the U.S. Census Bureau, Rep. Bachman is misreading the law and that someone can be fined up to $5,000 for refusing to answer any questions on the form. Don't know if I will get a long form or not so this may not be an issue but I have a whole lot of respect for anyone who does exactly as Representative Bachman is talking about doing.
